The Mission Safety is not just a campaign promise for Marie Mirville-Shahzada—it is a daily commitment. In direct response to growing concerns from residents about neighborhood security and quality of life, Marie sat down with NYC Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry to discuss real, actionable solutions for our district.
Why This Matters As the Vice President of the 60th Precinct Community Council, Marie understands that effective public safety requires a strong partnership between the community and city leadership. In this high-level meeting, Marie advocated for three critical pillars of her 11-point plan:
Strengthening NYPD-Community Trust: Ensuring law enforcement has the resources they need while building deep, respectful bonds with the families they serve.
Addressing Quality of Life Concerns: Tackling the visible issues that affect our daily peace of mind, from addressing illegal smoke shops to improving traffic safety near our schools and senior centers.
Rapid & Fair Response: Pushing for faster response times and more visible patrols in areas where our seniors and families feel most vulnerable.
Marie’s Stance Marie made it clear: We cannot wait for problems to solve themselves. We need leadership that shows up, speaks up, and demands the resources our neighborhoods deserve. This meeting marks another step forward in her mission to make our district the safest in Brooklyn.
I want people to remember that I always stood up to protect our families, our seniors, and our neighborhoods. We are building a district where everyone feels safe walking down the street, day or night.
